Services

EK Carpet Cleaning provides professional carpet, upholstery, area rug, and related cleaning services. Appointments may be booked online, by phone, or through our website.

Service availability, pricing, and cleaning methods may vary depending on the item, material, property conditions, access requirements, and the condition of the area being serviced.

General Booking & Service Requirements

  • A $110.00 minimum call-out fee applies to all jobs. If the itemized service total is below $110.00, the invoice defaults to the $110.00 minimum.
  • Working electricity and running water must be available on-site when required for the cleaning service.
  • Customers are responsible for providing reasonable access to the property and the areas scheduled for cleaning.
  • For buildings requiring elevator access, loading areas, building approvals, or other access arrangements, customers should make the necessary arrangements before the appointment.
  • Customers should keep children and pets away from active work areas, cleaning products, equipment, and extraction hoses during service.

Customer Preparation

Customers should prepare the cleaning area before the technician arrives to help provide safe and efficient service.

  • Remove small breakable items, toys, electronics, cords, lamps, valuables, and other loose items from the cleaning area.
  • Customers should remove or secure personal belongings that could interfere with cleaning equipment or access.
  • Light furniture that can be safely moved may be moved as appropriate for the service.
  • Customers are responsible for items that remain in the cleaning area when they cannot be safely moved by the technician.

Furniture & Items We Do Not Move

For safety and equipment limitations, EK Carpet Cleaning does not routinely move heavy, oversized, unusually fragile, or sensitive furnishings.

  • Beds and mattresses
  • Armoires and large cabinets
  • Pianos
  • Entertainment centers with televisions
  • China cabinets
  • Gym equipment
  • Pool tables
  • Other heavy or sensitive items that cannot be safely moved

When furniture or other items cannot be safely moved, cleaning may be performed around the item as practical.

Safety & Service Limitations

EK Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to stop, postpone, or decline work when conditions present a safety, health, property, or equipment risk.

Examples may include hazardous biohazards, raw sewage, active insect infestations, animal hoarding conditions, active black mold, or other conditions that cannot be safely handled as part of a standard cleaning service.

Where conditions require specialized remediation or treatment outside the scope of standard cleaning, the customer may need to arrange appropriate specialized services before cleaning can proceed.

Carpet Cleaning

Drying & Post-Cleaning Care

  • Carpet drying time varies according to ventilation, humidity, carpet fiber, soil level, and other site conditions.
  • Customers should use caution when walking from damp carpet onto tile, hardwood, or other hard flooring, as wet surfaces can create a slip hazard.
  • Protective plastic blocks should remain in place as recommended after cleaning to help prevent moisture-related staining or rust transfer from furniture legs.

Stains & Carpet Condition

  • Cleaning cannot guarantee complete removal of every stain or discoloration.
  • Some substances, including dyes, bleach, permanent marker, hair dye, turmeric, and other strongly pigmented materials, may permanently affect carpet fibers.
  • Deeply embedded stains may wick back to the surface as the carpet dries and may require additional treatment.
  • Existing rippling, buckling, worn areas, loose backing, or other pre-existing carpet conditions may affect the cleaning process and final appearance.
  • Severe pet urine contamination may penetrate the carpet padding or subfloor. Surface cleaning does not guarantee complete odor removal in these situations, and additional enzyme treatment or deeper remediation may be required.

Commercial Carpet Cleaning

Commercial customers are responsible for providing the access and site arrangements necessary for the scheduled service.

  • After-hours or secured facilities must provide the required access, security clearance, alarm information, keycards, or authorized facility contact.
  • Freight elevators and loading docks should be reserved when required for equipment or access.
  • Accessible utility sinks and appropriate electrical access should be available when required for the cleaning method.
  • Loose cords, trash bins, chair mats, and other items that interfere with cleaning should be cleared from the work area.
  • Computers, servers, power strips, and other sensitive electrical equipment located on floors are not handled by cleaning technicians.
  • Glue-down carpet and other sensitive commercial flooring may require a lower-moisture cleaning method depending on the material and site conditions.
  • Existing fiber wear, traffic-lane abrasion, permanent graying, or other physical deterioration cannot necessarily be restored through cleaning.

Upholstery Cleaning

Upholstery cleaning methods depend on the manufacturer's cleaning code, fabric construction, material condition, and other factors.

  • Code W: Water-based cleaning may be suitable.
  • Code S: Solvent-based cleaning only; water or steam extraction is not appropriate.
  • Code W/S: Water-based or solvent-based cleaning may be suitable depending on the material and condition.
  • Code X: Vacuum or dry-brush cleaning only; liquid cleaning or extraction is not appropriate.

Leather, suede, nubuck, velvet, Haitian cotton, rayon/viscose, pure silk, and other delicate materials may require specialized cleaning methods or may not be suitable for standard wet extraction.

Specialty Material Surcharge: A $20 surcharge applies to real leather or delicate fabrics such as silk, velvet, and rayon/viscose when dry or low-moisture cleaning techniques are required.

Pre-existing sun damage, fraying, weakened fabric, dye instability, or other existing damage may affect the cleaning process and results.

Area Rug Cleaning

Important: In-home area rug cleaning cannot be performed directly on hardwood floors. The rug must be placed on a suitable waterproof surface or over an appropriate waterproof protective barrier.

  • Wool blend and tufted cotton rugs may be susceptible to shrinkage or curling from excessive moisture or heat.
  • High-value hand-knotted, Persian, Oriental, antique, silk, and Navajo rugs may require off-site or in-plant cleaning.
  • Existing fringe wear, dye characteristics, dry rot, moth damage, or other pre-existing rug conditions may affect handling, cleaning, and final results.

Pricing & Additional Services

Current service pricing is published on the EK Carpet Cleaning Prices page. The $110.00 minimum call-out fee applies to all jobs.

Additional treatments, specialty cleaning methods, material surcharges, or services requested by the customer may result in additional charges. Any additional requested services or applicable charges will be communicated to the customer before they are added to the service whenever reasonably possible.

Appointments & Cancellations

Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Prices are confirmed at booking and may be adjusted for additional requested services agreed with the customer.

Payment

Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise arranged. We accept cash, check, and card payments.

Service Concerns & Liability

EK Carpet Cleaning is insured. Any service concerns should be reported within 24 hours of the appointment so we have an opportunity to review the concern and determine the appropriate response.

Cleaning results can be affected by pre-existing conditions, material type, previous treatments, wear, staining, contamination, installation, moisture exposure, and other conditions outside the control of the cleaning technician. Cleaning does not guarantee restoration of damaged, permanently stained, worn, or otherwise compromised materials.
